    Design Thinking Consultant

    CompuCom Systems Inc., is looking for a Design Thinking Consultant who will be delivering CompuCom's Design Thinking product to help our clients find unique, value-added solutions to complex business problems. To excel in this role, you must have an excellent understanding of all aspects of “Design Thinking” methodologies in agile organizations. This position will report to the Vice President of Client Innovation



    • Provide Design Thinking support using Design Thinking principles, including:
      • Planning Design Thinking workshops and activities for both internal and external Clients, including development of workshop context / agendas, etc.
      • Identifying, assigning, and conducting pre-workshop research, analysis, and synthesis
      • Conducting Design Thinking workshops using the 5-step process (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test)
      • Coordinating and managing post-workshop artifact and prototype production with diverse internal and external production teams
      • Coordinating iterative prototype review / testing, including vetting with internal and external teams and Clients
      • Delivery and presentation of workshop results and prototypes to clients
    • Provide Design Thinking support to Account Executives, Account Managers and Solution Directors as required as potential innovation opportunities within new/existing accounts are identified
    • Create and manage Design Thinking artifacts and processes
    • Train and mentor clients and other team members on Design Thinking principles and techniques
    • Other duties as required


    • Bachelor’s degree in Design, IT, Business, or related fields / commensurate experience
    • 3-5 years of experience leading Design Thinking workshops and all related activities, designing solutions that balance user needs, commercial interests, and technological constraints, and including design strategy, service design, design research
      • Experience in planning and execution of customer design projects through holistic understanding of customer’s problem area, iterative solution designs, executive stakeholder management and integration of CompuCom’s business & technical experts
      • Experience as a design lead for customer engagements on a project by project basis, from idea to prototype to product
      • Experience in design thinking or human-centered methods to identify unmet customer, market and institutional needs with demonstrated track record of creating new design concepts or business strategies to meet those needs
      • Experience conducting qualitative research and synthesizing to provide insights, identify opportunities, and generate conceptual frameworks
    • 2+ years of project leadership experience (business/IT innovation related)
    • 2+ years of experience creating and using prototypes (low-fidelity and high-fidelity) to visualize and improve ideas
    • Demonstrated experience working on cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills that can facilitate discussion to include C-level executives
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated as well as within cross-functional teams (Client and internal)


    • Advanced degree (MBA)
    • 2+ years of experience with in design tools
    • Strong strategic thinking and business knowledge
    • Experience in use of IT related process design and analysis toolsets
    • Experience with latest Design Thinking, Ideation and Prototyping techniques desired
    • Experience with the principles of Digital Transformation
