Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of standard client/server, networking, and internet fundamentals. As well as superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint with experience in managing medium to large environments. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot all aspects of SharePoint effectively and understand the product configuration, flow and logging in detail. The ideal candidate will understand the base operating system, SharePoint Management Packs and be able to discuss in detail at least one of the following Management Packs: Active Directory, SharePoint, IIS tuning and customization.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient with SharePoint 2013 administration, development and general user knowledge.
  • Proficient with SharePoint Designer to develop solutions for designs, lists, and libraries. 
  • Plan and design databases, develop or update workflows and migrate data to SharePoint 2013. 
  • Performs the semi-routine operation of server software including maintaining system security; monitors usage statistics and logs; modifies configuration settings and backs up the systems; troubleshoots system related problems; may write PowerShell scripts; general knowledge in operating systems, TCP/IP, and Internet services such as HTTP and FTP servers.
  • Design, update, and maintain a collaborative solutions-based framework of websites and portals in a Microsoft SharePoint environment.
  • Performs system tuning to enhance performance; develops backup schedules according to project and system requirements.
  • Creates a system disaster recovery plan.
  • Provides training and technical assistance as required.
  • Assist and train team members with the use of Microsoft collaborative solutions.
  • Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility.
  • Document supporting policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibilities.
  • Maintain assigned systems in accordance with DISA STIGs, NIST standards, and agency requirements
  • Provide Capacity, Performance and Availability reports for assigned systems.

Qualifications

  • Active Directory Experience
  • 4 or more years of SharePoint Server 2010/2013 Systems Engineering/Administration experience
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012
  • Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell scripting
  • Authentication architecture using AD, ADFS or any other equivalent
  • Network architecture including protocols, firewalls, load balancers, DNS
  • Systems and server architecture including virtualization, monitoring, storage
  • Capacity planning for SharePoint and related services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Microsoft SharePoint, Configuration - desired
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): SharePoint Administrator 2010 - desired
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): SharePoint
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD): SharePoint - Desired

 

Desired experience

  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS for building SharePoint farms
  • Architecting solutions in SharePoint (workflows, features, service applications)
