Overview

A Project Manager - Planning is responsible for managing a project’s schedule, quality, and budget to ensure that we provide our clients with a quality project on time while staying within our prescribed budget. As such, a Project Manager is expected to provide weekly budget updates, identify and manage project change requests, manage and ensure the schedule is followed, provide client reports and provide QC for all project deliverables before they go to the client. This PM will work directly with the client throughout the planning stages of the project with multiple work streams with many project resources under his supervision. A PM may run global projects with many vendors.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible for overall success of the project
  • Oversees and manages large, moderate to complex diverse and/or strategic projects (Planning, Coordinating, Implementing, Timing, Functionality, Quality and Cost) that have a wide impact across the client and/or organization
  • Plan and manages large repeatable projects and medium complex projects including: Planning, Coordinating, Implementing, Timing, Functionality, Quality and Cost.
  • Defines and Meets project commitments
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the project
  • Project Manager  of workstream(s), under direction of a more senior PM
  • Mentors other project managers
  • Actively involved in developing the Project Management Center of Excellence (COE), and ClientLink Methodology updates
  • Global Delivery
  • Vendor / Sub-contractor management
  • Pre-Sales Responsibility for project scoping and SOW development
  • CompuCom assigned role of vendor or client PM
  • Manages the project team in a matrixed environment to ensure all work is completed and correct.
  • Responsible for  leading all aspects of project delivery including initiation, planning, execution and closeout
  • Accountable for  understanding the concept of revenues/margins/labor cost and applying to CompuCom financial planning tools and practices
  • Creates all project documentation to include but not limited to:
    • Budget plan
    • Project plan
    • Process documentation
    • Project team playbooks
    • Risk matrices
  • Manages budget- weekly reports and ensures budget is maintained by identifying issues in spend and correcting process or identifying need for change orders
  • Prepares and delivers all client reports to client and all internal project reports
  • Maintains project dashboard
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the project for client and Compucom.
  • May manage a project workstream under a senior project manager.
  • Manages Vendor / Sub-contractor engagements to include but not limited to:
    • Create and manage purchase requisitions
    • Provide details and assist in the creation of vendor SOWs
    • Manage purchase order budgets
    • Review and approve vendor invoices
    • Manage the vendor work- ensure compliance with SOW deliverables and penalties.

 

Education/Experience

Related work experience and Bachelor’s degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 3 years proven experience successfully managing projects greater than $4M
  • PMI or other related Project Management certification + 3 years proven experience successfully managing projects greater than $5M
  • 10 years proven experience successfully managing projects

  • Retail project experience
  • Agile Experience preferred
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills essential
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies
  • Project management skills in leading all aspects of project delivery including, initiation, planning, execution and closeout
  • Project Estimating Tools - Must understand the concept of revenues/margins/labor cost in CompuCom finance proforma model
  • Microsoft Project
  • CompuCom Financial system experience - Oracle, iExpense, Microstrategy
  • Procurement experience - iProcurement, Fieldglass
  • Resourcing / contract management
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note
  • Microsoft Sharepoint
  • Collaboration Tools - WebEx/Google Suite
