Overview

The Financial Analyst uses finance and accounting concepts to analyze data and prepare financial schedules to support company objectives. This finance role partners with the Business Unit to analyze performance using financial and operational data to draw insights and prepare recommendations to optimize business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monthly financial and accounting related activities, including cost allocation and project accounting. 
  • Assist in preparing Profit and Loss statements and account reconciliations. 
  • Provide financial analyses based on business performance for account activity.
  • Participate in Business Unit budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and the Business Unit. 
  • Analyzes industry and general economic trends.
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.   
  • Provide analysis on business development and monitor business performance by unit or division.  Assist in developing financial concepts for financial planning and control.
  • The Financial Analyst will assist in closing procedures with regard to revenue and costs as well as ensuring there are no material errors within the closing process for the organization. 
  • This role will assist in developing the financial reporting packages and cost analysis provided to the operational teams and Sr. Management. 

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Good problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and MS Access
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to follow through

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and Micro-strategy or other BI tool.
  • Proficiency in use of mathematical, statistical, and analytical tools to model and analyze large quantities of data from business to understand problems and define solutions
